Where has summer gone? I can't find it anywhere!!
During the past two weeks, many hours have been spent at school...many hours. Finally, I can see the tops of my students' desks, and I'm almost done clearing my own!
What other profession, and if you know please tell me, has to disassemble their "office" every 10 months, only to begin reassembly 10 weeks later?
Seriously, I'm getting too old and feeble to lift 24 desks/chairs, hook up computers, clean all surfaces, and store items six feet overhead on a ledge over the door. Guess that's why I hired a kind teen to do the lifting/dusting...AND, I convinced my sweet husband to come and connect my computers...and do more lifting.
The stacks at HOME are unbelievable!! I have been a "printing maniac" this summer, thinking I MUST have this, or my kids MUST have that. Over 500 pages, and counting, await my decision regarding their fate: lamination or multiplication (copying!). Hmm...Guess this weekend I can do that decision-making in the comfort of my recliner. I'll employ another sweet friend to laminate/copy on Monday.
Yes, I'm getting soft. OR...am I finally becoming wise beyond my years? Why didn't I ask for/pay for help earlier in my teaching career? (Kudos to my dear husband who has ALWAYS been my Man Friday!!)
Ruminations of a teacher....not a mover, cleaner, or weight-lifter. Seriously.
